Today is Laundry Day. This happens about every 7-10 days in our house. Most people either love it or hate it. I am more on the love it side. In an RV, all that dirty laundry can really stink the place up, especially with boys in the house!
I actually enjoy coming to the laundromat. This is where I am currently typing this blog post. My husband stays home with the boys and I enjoy some “me time”. I use the free wifi and usually blog, watch Youtube videos, or catch up with friends and family. Today I even brought along some snacks. Since I am a Stay-at-Home-Mom, this break is really appreciated!
Since I usually come to the laundromat later in the evening, I actually fold our clothes the following day. My oldest, Lucas, takes care of his clothes, his brother’s clothes, wash rags, and hand towels. He is an awesome help! I do the rest and we start the whole process all over again.

About 4-5 loads every 5-7 days for family of 3. This includes towels. I am not including my cloth diapers. That is an extra load every few days… I still find it ridiculous it’s that much but my hubby still works 9-5 and has to work out in the am (army) then we hit the gym at night.

We just sold our house and everything in it this past October and started living in our motor home full time. My husband and I both plan on retiring later this year and hope to begin traveling around the US. My motor home has one of those combination washer / dryer machines in it but I haven’t used it yet, instead I go to the local laundromat. Instead of spending several hours a day washing and drying clothes in the motor home I can get it all done in an hour. At the laundromat I can wash everything, rugs, comforters, sleeping bags, dog beds, you name it. Sunday mornings after church seems to be the best time to go, there aren’t a lot of people there yet and I can use the BIG machines that will wash all my clothes at once. By the time I’m ready to leave the laundromat is full. Last Sunday every dryer was in use and that is a lot of dryers.
I may not always be so thrilled to go to the laundromat, they may not always be as nice and convenient as the one I currently use, when that happens I will get acquainted with the combo machine in my motor home. I’m thinking if I wash a load of clothes every couple of days I can keep everything clean however there are just some things that will always have to go to the laundromat.

If it is a ventless combo unit, they take forever to dry. You can linedry while fulltime.
